MINISTRIES OF THE FLORIDA BAPTIST ASSOCIATION
Preaching/Pulpit Supply/Teaching · The Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director and other pastors and ministers in our Association are available to assist when needed for preaching, testimonies, mission conferences, and teaching special Bible studies at your church.
Peer Learning Groups · Pastor Peer Groups - pastors meet each month for fellowship and the sharing of ideas ● Big Bend Fellowship of Church Musicians - church musicians meet monthly for lunch and to plan joint ministry projects ● Youth Ministry Forum - youth ministers meet to fellowship once a month and plan joint events
Training Opportunities · Operation: Training Church Leadership – each February, many practical workshops to choose from · Sunday School Conference – usually in July, several workshops to choose from about teaching · Sunday School - individual church conferences as requested · Vacation Bible School We host an annual workshop in February for directors and teachers · Annual Church Profile training each August about how to fill out the report on paper or online · Specialty conferences for individual churches - Teacher Training, Witnessing Workshops, January Bible Study, New Member Classes, Search Team training, Interim Pastor Ministry, Small Group Ministry, Single Adult Ministry, Divorce Care Ministry, Community Missions Strategy, Developing a Mission and Strategy for Our Church, and more.
Mission Projects · In June, World Changer or Project Big Bend construction teams often work on homes in the area. · Disaster Relief trips facilitated · Joint mission projects in our Association · Meals for the Baptist Campus Ministry are provided by local churches at FSU, FAMU · Projects taken on by the Association like our 2009 Pastor's conference in Haiti
New Church Starts · Assisting persons, churches and interested groups in the planting of new churches. Monthly fellowships for church planters.
Financial Support · Financial assistance to new churches · Financial assistance to FAMU, FSU, and TCC Baptist Campus Ministries
Interim Ministry of the Florida Baptist Association · Churches and Interim Pastors are provided training during the time of transition after a senior pastor leaves - How to find an Interim Pastor, what should he do, and how long should he stay - What kind of work needs to be done by the church before a new pastor is called - What a church can do to make a new pastor successful
Meeting with Church Committees & Ministry Teams · Training for the pastor-search process · Training for interim-pastor ministry · Other help with church-related issues ● Help to churches who need mediation and counseling ● Provide pastor and staff member counseling
Events · Evening of Worship and Praise - A joint Sunday night service for all the churches in the Association featuring special music, testimonies and a guest speaker. · Open House at the FBA - when the Association hosts an open house, Pastors, staff and church members from all the Association churches are invited.
