Mission Statement:
Our mission is to invite others to experience the true abundance that is only found in an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ by praising God, preaching the word and practicing the truth.
Vision Statement: It is the Vision of a people and a place where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, the lonely, the misunderstood, and the needy can find love, hope, help, forgiveness, information about the new life in Christ and learn of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is the vision of sharing the Bad News and the Good News of the Gospel to the hundreds of residents in our community, the surrounding communities and beyond.
It is the vision of welcoming all families and individuals into the fellowship of the church; so together we can love, learn, laugh, weep, lead, follow and serve in harmony and life for God's glory.
It is the vision of developing people to spiritual maturity through Bible studies, discipleship, family life seminars, training seminars and workshops.
It is the vision of a church with the emphasis on the total involvement of each member, and balanced growth growing organically (in it's leadership), growing qualitatively (in Christ likeness), and growing quantitatively (in numbers) all for the glory of God and the edification of His people.
Ministry Philosophy: Unity Baptist Church subscribes to the biblical philosophy of ministry. "As each one has received a special gift, the members are encouraged and trained to discover, develop, and deploy their spiritual gift(s) in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, let him speak as it were the utterances of God; whoever serves, let him do so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. AMEN." - 1 Peter 4:10-11
Core Values:
I. Worship: We seek intimacy with God. The heart of corporate worship is personal worship. Each believer should pursue personal worship by participating in a daily quiet time and scripture memorization. The goal of all worship is to exist in an abiding fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
II. Relationship: We passionately share the Gospel. Sociologists have told us that the most introverted person will make an impact in the lives of a minimum of ten thousand people during their lifetime if the live to the age of seventy. God has placed people in and around our lives that need to know Him. Programs don't reach people; people reach people. Each believer has been given the charge to be actively involved in evangelism. In order for evangelism to be effective, three things must be done: a. It must be personal. b. It must be intentional. c. It must be relational. One of our commitments is to train each member how to share their faith.
III. Discipleship: We equip one another to practice the faith. Each believer is challenged to allow the Spirit to cultivate an ever-deepening walk with the Lord. This involves learning to apply spiritual disciplines and apply biblical doctrine. We encourage and offer each member the opportunity to enroll in a course that teaches how to study the bible inductively. We also encourage members to be involved in mentoring relationships. The goal is for each mature believer to mentor at least three people per year.
IV. Fellowship: We strengthen one another through caring relationships. Each member is important to the overall health of the church and needs to be accountable to each other so that we can protect the purity of the church. We encourage members to be involved in an accountability group. As people get to know each other, relationships deepens, sin decreases, love grows and become evident and the witness of the church is clearly seen.
V. Ministry: We expect each member to join us in ministering through his/her spiritual gift(s) and financial resources. God has designed each believer with spiritual gifts, passions and relational styles that adds to the strength of the body. God has given the church all that she needs to do the work of the ministry. Each member is expected to operate in his/her area of giftedness so that Christ can be glorified and the body can be edified.
