CHAPEL HILL BAPTIST

In the Fall of 2005, a group of about 40 people began meeting together in worship and Bible study with a vision to establish a new church in Tallahassee. There are now over 100 meeting each week in the Workforce Development building at Tallahassee Community College, 444 Appleyard Dr., Tallahassee.

Brian Mimbs was called as pastor in 2006. He was born and raised in Lake City, Florida, and is a graduate of Troy University. Brian previously served as speechwriter for the Majority Leader and Speaker of the Florida House, Secretary of State Glenda Hood, and, most recently, Governor Jeb Bush. He is a student in Liberty University’s Seminary.

The church meets for Sunday School at 9:00 am and has Bible study groups which provide for all ages. Sunday Worship is at 10:00 am. Wednesday night at 6:30 is their Mid-week Gathering.

Chapel Hill is a great example of a church that is reaching out to their community to do acts of love in Jesus name. As an example, they sent a group over to Ochlockonee Bay Baptist Church to help with some of the repair work still being done as a result of  previous hurricane damage. Their people did some painting, drywall repair and yard work. Several weekends each year, over 50 people from Chapel Hill  work on mission projects in the community.
